The successor to the legendary Huracan has arrived in the form of the Temerario model, model year 2025… This is the first time that Lamborghini is entering hybrid territory, so forget the V10 symphony that the Huracan had . In terms of design, we can say that it is still a Lamborghini. A lot of aggressiveness and full hips are a trump card for attracting attention in any case.

Lamborghini is turning a new chapter when it comes to motorization, all for the purpose of meeting the strict EURO exhaust standards that, believe it or not, somehow only apply to the territory of the old continent. While on other continents you can drive anything and everything on 4 wheels, in the EU they pay attention to the exhaust of cars, consciously pushing the auto industry in a new direction of electrification, while the rest of the traffic remains on fossil fuels, at least for a while because there is no end in sight for them… Let’s get back to the car. If it’s a hybrid, or “HPEV” as Lamborghini called it, it doesn’t have to be boring. The old V10 had to go into oblivion, and a new specialty was being prepared from the kitchens of Sant’Agata Bolognese. A completely new V8 that uses Twin Turbo technology spins at a high 10,000 rpm, which is a competitive figure by today’s standards. With the help of three electric motors, two of which are located at the front and the third in the middle of the car, it develops a total of 920 hp while the torque is 730 Nm.

The performance is extraordinary. It reaches 100 km/h in a low 2.7 seconds while the maximum speed is 340 km/h. And all this is possible with an average fuel consumption of 2 l/100 km when the batteries are charged or 12 l/100 km when batteries are discharged. They are still charged while driving, which takes some time.

The direct competition is like the Ferrari 296 GTS/GTB, which is also a hybrid, but in combination with V6 gasoline and electric motors, it develops a maximum of 830 HP and 740 Nm and reaches 100 km/h in 2.4 seconds, while the maximum speed is 330 km/h.

The price of the new Lamborghini will certainly be higher than the Huracan. Estimated to be in the $400-500k range!
